LifeTeen is an international Catholic movement that serves the Church by providing resources and faith experiences that help lead teens closer to Christ. This is accomplished through a vibrant Eucharistic spirituality, meaningful catechesis, outreach to the poor and needy, relational ministry and by creating widespread opportunities for teens to grow in their faith.

 

Youth ministry is a vital part of the parish! The youth are not only the future of the Church but they are the Church and need to be heard, respected and involved in the church community now. The church community needs to embrace and empower the youth of the parish. The Church has always adapted to the culture and changes of the time.

 

We need to be open to change, the different ideas and the current youth culture. Christ calls all of us to serve Him in different ways, may you open your heart to what God is asking of you and may you find peace in answering this call.

Everyone, by his or her baptism is called to serve. A CORE member is an adult responding to the call to serve in youth ministry. As a CORE member, you will be an important role model in youths’ lives. Your approach to ministry should be rooted in service, commitment and dedication to the Church and the teenagers you serve. CORE members are one of the most vital parts of the Youth Ministry program.

 

CORE members typically meet an average of twice a month to discuss and plan events. CORE members take part in many, perhaps all, of the activities offered by LifeTeen/Edge and are needed to facilitate these activities. CORE members are also encouraged to do outreach to the youth on a regular basis such as going to sporting events, drama, music and any other places that the youth are gathering.

 Relational Ministries has so many varied opportunities for service; the young people of Holy Family Church need hundreds of helpers. CORE members will make a weekly commitment while other volunteers will help for onetime events. Some volunteers are catechists, some support our prayer chains. Some help with meal preparation, others are chaperones for outings. 

 

What are your gifts? We are certain there is something you can do to help us with our teen ministries. 

 

All of our LifeTeen/Edge volunteers must be compliant with Safeguarding the Children requirements which include signing The Guidelines for Conduct with Children and Teens, Virtus training and Live Scan.
